In the search for synergetic effects, the Unior joint-stock company and WEBA GmbH have signed a contract of members on 23 November of this year in Maribor that established the joint venture WEBA Maribor, d. o. o. that will assume production of forming tools on 1 January 2008. Under the expert guidance of the new Director, Mr Prochazk, from WEBA GmbH and the current Head of the Maribor BU Machine Tools Programme, Mr Branko Bračko, operations according to the positive experience of WEBE GmbH will be introduced in the new company.
The newly established company will enable the associates from the tool-making field to enhance and upgrade their knowledge. Following the analyses and the harmonisation with the management of UNIOR, d. d. we decided to find a strategic partner for the tool-making area who would, through their influence, knowledge and a better market position, together with us continue the mission of tool-making at the Maribor BU location. Among the most suitable ones was the WEBA GmbH from Austria/Styria, which is among the most important suppliers of forming tools for the automotive industry and a constituent part of the Greiner Group (106 companies in 29 countries around the world!). We expect from the new strategic business partner that it will, through its influence, knowledge, experience and technical support, ensure: the continuity of work, care for development, transfer of technology (tools for sheet metal with enhanced tensile strength!), adequate productivity, expertise and competence of the workers, and the continuation of the mission of tool-making in Maribor. Through the joint venture, the Unior joint-stock company will ensure the market stability of the programme and simultaneously, via the Greiner Group, expand the possibilities of upgrading its production programmes also for the non-automotive industries.
This is at the same time an opportunity for all the employees at the Maribor BU to ensure for themselves, through serious and professional work under the leadership of the new management of a renowned company, a job position that is suited to their competences and knowledge, and consequently a better future.
